UVa-Wise offers Basic Communication Skills at the SVTDC

The University of Virginia’s College at Wise will offer Basic Communication Skills on Thursday, March 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Southwest Virginia Technology Development Center in Lebanon, VA.
Professionals spend most of their day communicating with others in some form. Learn how to communicate with precision and persuasion in this one day communications workshop. Participants will gain insight to the communication process and learn strategies to communicate more effectively in the office as well as virtually. This workshop teaches strategies to communicate effectively face-to-face, by telephone, or through electronic media. Participants will gain networking tips that will help them become more successful in the workplace.
Instructor David Hite has over 10 years of professional consulting and training experience in the areas of Human Resources, eCommerce, Training, and Instructional Technologies. He also presents on a wide range of topics such as communications, new media, instructional accessibility, and online learning. Hite serves as an adjunct professor at Virginia Intermont College and East Tennessee State University.
